Grease Follower Plates

Follower plate are always recommended but they become indispensable when using particularly hard greases. The follower plate is pulled towards the bottom of the drum by the vacuum created by the pump and always ensures the following advantages:

  • Compresses the grease, preventing air pockets from forming and possible cavitation of the pump

  • Keeps the grease clean, as well as preserving its characteristics

  • Enables collection of all the grease from the bottom of the drum, that would otherwise remain stuck to the sides.

RAASM follower plates are designed to be used exclusively with RAASM grease pumps and feature a rubber outer edge to ‘wipe’ the interior of the grease container to maximise grease availability and prevent contamination.  This feature also allows the follower plate to better adhere to both straight and contoured 20kg pails (allowing it to be used with in pails that have an internal diameter between 255mm-300mm).

To aid grease container change over, the follower plate features a welded handle to aid removal from the empty pail and re-installation.  The follower plate should be pressed down onto the grease in the container to minimise any initial air pockets.

NOTE: Because of the tight manufacturing tolerances follower plates are typically not interchangeable between brands and should be partnered with the same brand grease pump.
