37812 - Air Pressure Regulator/Filter Lubricator

Air pressure regulator/filters are vital for a healthy pneumatic system. When air is compressed it can contain condensed water, oil or other impurities passing from the compressor through the air line to your equipment. The filter component helps to ‘clean’ the air and remove foreign matter before reaching the pump. It is important that the filter is inspected routinely to ensure that any water that has been captured by the filter is drained from the collection bowl.

The Regulator component ensures that the air pressure delivered to the pump (or other pneumatic tool) is delivered as per the manufacturer recommendations.  They prevent pulsing or surging and are fitted with an adjustment knob that is used to regulate the pump and its operating speed. Depending on the air consumption of the pump will determine the appropriately sized air regulator required.

Once the air has been regulated and filtered to remove impurities, the compressed air supplied should be lubricated to maximise pump life.  A lubricator mists a small amount of oil into the air inlet of the pump to provide lubrication to the moving parts, reducing wear, extending pump life but also providing resistance against corrosion. 

It is important that the lubricator is inspected routinely to ensure that the oil is at a suitable level.
